Primary Music

This music course will explain the content of the Ontario Music Curriculum for the Primary Grades (1-3), teach you relevant musical theory, music appreciation, and provide you with tools to teach music in your classroom. The Curriculum is broken down into six categories: Duration, Pitch, Dynamics, Timbre, Texture/Harmony, and Form. This program will delve into each category, grade by grade, explaining all of the terms and concepts in the curriculum as well as provide teaching tools for the classroom.

This course follows the Ontario Music Curriculum. It is, however, possible to use it to support music education in other provinces and states. Although the organization is likely different, the music theory and subject matter will be the same.
